State Welcome Centers / Tourist Information Centers

These entities provide brochure and rack card distribution.  If you do not already provide property collateral to the welcome centers, you need to do so.
Your property does not pay a commission on rooms generated through the these welcome centers.  However, because welcome centers attract high traffic, call
periodically to be sure they have plenty of your property collateral, and see if you can send in specials via rack cards (most efficient may be by season,
such as "Winter Sale or Off-Season Special!  October - March" with no year specified).  In addition, a personal call on these facilities can work wonders.
Many welcome center workers are long-term employees, so making friends can be very beneficial -- they will remember you when asked for
personal recommendations of where to stay -- which is often!

Think outside the box!  During the (hot) Summer, a Texas in Texas sets up lemonade stands on Fridays, and hotel employees give away
glasses while selling their rooms!  They have driving directions to the property already prepared, and use their cell phones to call in the reservations.
